In an evening filled with innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, Direct Primary Care Associates claimed the spotlight at the Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union’s (TVFCU) Cleveland Area Idea Leap Grant Pitch Competition. Making its debut in Cleveland, this competition underscored the dynamic nature of local businesses, with Direct Primary Care Associates earning the top prize of $25,000. The announcement of Direct Primary Care Associates securing the top prize of $25,000 marked a significant moment for the healthcare provider. CEO Brian Fretwell delivered an impressive presentation, showcasing the vision and impact of DPCA in the community. The grant serves as a testament to the dedication and innovation exhibited by Direct Primary Care Associates in the pursuit of excellence in healthcare services.

While Direct Primary Care Associates took the spotlight, it’s essential to acknowledge the remarkable efforts of the runner-up, Biscuit NV, which secured $15,000, and third-place winner, Rod’s Rock ‘n’ Rolls, receiving $10,000. The competition highlighted the diversity of businesses in the Cleveland area, each contributing to the local economy in its unique way.

TVFCU’s Idea Leap Grant competition attracted approximately 300 small businesses in its sixth annual edition. Through a meticulous selection process, a panel of volunteer judges, comprised of local business leaders, identified quarterfinalists based on video submissions. Semifinalists then opened their doors to the judges, providing a firsthand look at their operations. The public also played a crucial role in selecting a People’s Choice Finalist through an open voting period.

The Idea Leap Grant is an extension of TVFCU’s Idea Leap Loan Initiative, specifically designed to support small businesses since its inception in 2016. With over $5 million in loans provided to emerging and early-stage businesses, the credit union has been instrumental in fueling entrepreneurial ventures. Additionally, TVFCU has granted over $300,000 in Idea Leap Grants and scholarships, further emphasizing its commitment to fostering
